Sara Orsi is a web designer/dev, creative coder and researcher whose practice has as principal motto the impact of digital media on the contemporary culture.
She is co-founder of Arquivo 237 – a cultural and educational project in Lisbon, focused on Architecture, Design and Technology –, and lectures at ESAD.CR and ETIC.
With a background in Architecture from University of Porto, Orsi holds a master in Communication Design and New Media from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, with the dissertation From the Archive to the New.

Taking SOPHIA as a central object, this new edition of Impressões Expressas unfolds between the reference to Sophia de Mello Breyner and the homonymous concept coming from the Greek term “sofós” which means “who holds wisdom.”
Therefor, SOPHIA SOPHIA is a mobile application/ essay which translates as an invitation to meet Sophia’s work. However, not into a chronological, bibliographical or biographical knowledge of the author, but into a knowledge that is constructed from linguistic relations.
Having poems of Sophia de Mello Breyner inscribed in the ramp of the Book Fair of Porto, SOPHIA SOPHIA materializes in a mobile application that, from its function of recognition of text, allows the user to enter in a digital space where her poetic work becomes a collection of texts without order, principle or end. A digital space where, through text mining tools, the poems are categorized and regrouped, aiming to find linguistic relationships which allow us to explore new and ever different paths through the poems of Sophia de Mello Breyner.
Tomando SOPHIA como objeto central, esta nova edição do projeto Impressões Expressas desdobra-se entre a referência a Sophia de Mello Breyner e o conceito homónimo proveniente do termo grego “sofós” o qual significa “o que detém sabedoria”.
SOPHIA SOPHIA é, assim, uma aplicação/ensaio que se traduz num convite ao saber da obra de Sophia. Contudo, não a um saber cronológico, bibliográfico ou biográfico da autora, mas a um saber que se constrói a partir de relações linguísticas.
Tendo como porta de entrada excertos de poemas de Sophia de Mello Breyner inscritos na rampa da Feira do Livro do Porto, SOPHIA SOPHIA concretiza-se numa aplicação web que, a partir da sua função de reconhecimento de texto, permite ao público da Feira do Livro entrar num espaço digital onde a sua obra poética se transforma numa coleção de textos isenta de ordem, princípio ou fim. Um espaço digital onde, através de ferramentas de mineração de texto, os poemas são categorizados e reagrupados, com o objetivo de se encontrem relações linguísticas as quais permitem que se percorram novos e sempre diferentes caminhos pelos poemas de Sophia de Mello Breyner.
